Roborock's Where the Greatest Meet event, explained

A dated, status-labeled account of Roborock's two-day 'Where the Greatest Meet' Tokyo event, separating what actually ships from demo-only technology and Real Madrid partnership marketing.

Roborock’s Where the Greatest Meet event looked, from the outside, like one Real Madrid-flavored reveal: football clips, a Tokyo stage, a wheel-leg robot vacuum, and a flagship launch all moving through the same campaign language. For buyers, that is the least useful way to read it. The event needs to be split by status: what was launched with dated pricing, what was only demoed, and what was brand marketing.

This is not a review of the Saros 20 Sonic, and it is not a full profile of the Real Madrid deal. It is a dated account of what changed after Roborock’s two-day Tokyo event on May 18–19, 2026, which Roborock recapped through PR Newswire on May 26: Day 1 was the product launch, Day 2 was the Roborock x Real Madrid Clinic, and the January partnership sat behind both as the branding arc. [1]

That January arc matters because it is easy to blur the names. “The Greatest Meeting The Greatest” was the strategic partnership announcement published by Roborock on January 2, 2026; Real Madrid separately described Roborock as a global strategic partner. [2][3] “Where the Greatest Meet” was the later Tokyo event banner. Similar words, different buyer meaning.

The event, status-labeled

Saros 20 Sonic and Saros 20 series pricingConfirmed as vendor-announced regional pricingThis is the only hardware cluster from the event with dated buyer-facing prices: Malaysia RM6,299, Vietnam ₫29,990,000, and US pricing listed as $1,599.99 for Saros 20 and $1,699.99 for Saros 20 Sonic in the reviewed materials. [1]
“Six new products”Confirmed count; list still InvestigatingRoborock says six new products were unveiled, led by Saros 20 Sonic, but the release does not enumerate all six models. Treat any complete six-product list as unverified unless it cites a source that actually names all six. [1]
Saros RoverConfirmed demo; not shippingRoborock used “world’s first” wheel-leg language around the Rover at CES 2026 and showed it again in Tokyo, but Roborock’s own Tokyo release says it remains under development and gives no launch timing. [1][4]
Matter supportInvestigatingThe Saros 20 Sonic product page says “Matter Supported,” but that is still a vendor claim until hub-level behavior is tested and documented. [5]

Day 1 is where the buyer-relevant hardware sits

The product launch is the part that deserves the most careful reading because it contains both the strongest buyer signal and the biggest information gap. Roborock says Day 1 drew around 200 attendees and unveiled six new products, led by the Saros 20 Sonic flagship. The named claims attached to Saros 20 Sonic include VibraRise 5.0 Mopping System and AdaptiLift Chassis 3.0. [1]

Those are launch claims, not tested performance conclusions. The useful point is narrower: Saros 20 Sonic is the flagship Roborock chose to name in the release, and the Saros 20 line is the only hardware from the Tokyo story with dated regional pricing visible in the materials. Malaysia is listed at RM6,299, Vietnam at ₫29,990,000, and the US prices in the reviewed materials are $1,599.99 for Saros 20 and $1,699.99 for Saros 20 Sonic. [1]

The irritating part is the “six new products” phrasing. Roborock’s release uses the count, but it does not provide a clean six-model list. That means the count is confirmed, while the complete inventory is not. A recap that quietly fills in the missing products may be right, but it is doing more work than the cited release does.

For US buyers, the better next step is not to reconstruct the six-product lineup from social clips. Track whether the specific model you want is listed as announced, priced, shipping, or pending on the Roborock 2026 flagship announcement status board. If US availability is part of your decision, also keep the FCC availability layer separate from launch marketing; the background is covered in the FCC robot vacuum ban explainer and the robot vacuum FCC ban alternatives page.

Saros Rover was shown, not launched

Saros Rover is the part of the event most likely to be over-read. It is visually memorable, and Roborock’s own CES language was designed to make it memorable: the company described it as the world’s first robotic vacuum with wheel-leg architecture when it appeared at CES 2026. [4]

At Tokyo, Rover belonged in the demo category. Roborock’s May release says the Saros Rover was demoed and then adds the footnote that matters most: it is still under development, and launch timing has not been announced. [1] That is a useful technology signal, but it is not a preorder signal.

This is also where spec discipline matters. Roborock’s CES copy is evidence of what the company claimed at that point, not a final retail spec sheet. [4] Until Roborock publishes a shipping product page for Rover, conflicting public figures around suction, object recognition, or threshold handling should be treated as launch-era noise rather than settled purchase information.

There is no practical workaround for a robot vacuum that has no launch timing. If stairs are the reason you noticed Rover, the buyer-safe interpretation is simple: watch the technology, do not delay a necessary vacuum purchase on the assumption that this model is imminent.

Matter support is still an Investigating item

The Saros 20 Sonic product page includes the phrase “Matter Supported.” [5] That is worth noting, especially for buyers trying to avoid another app-only smart-home device. It still does not answer the compatibility question by itself.

Matter support can mean different things in practice: what the device exposes, which hubs see it correctly, whether routines behave reliably, and whether the cleaning controls a buyer expects are available outside Roborock’s own app. Until hub-level testing confirms behavior, this stays Investigating rather than Confirmed compatibility. The broader standard we use for that distinction is laid out in Matter device readiness in 2026.

If you are choosing between waiting for a Saros 20-series model and buying an older Roborock on sale, separate the purchase math from the Matter claim. A lower-priced current model may still make sense if the features you need are already known; the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra sale-price guide is the more useful comparison point for that question than the Real Madrid event imagery.

Why Real Madrid was everywhere

Day 2 explains the clips. Roborock hosted the 2026 Roborock x Real Madrid Clinic in Tokyo, with more than 40 participants from markets including Malaysia, South Korea, Australia, Turkey, Japan, and Southeast Asia. [1] The exact market phrasing varies across regional event materials, so the safe reading is regional, not a tightly fixed country roll call.

Roborock x Real Madrid football clinic at the Where the Greatest Meet event in Tokyo

That does not make the clinic meaningless. It shows how Roborock wants the brand to feel: less like a utility-appliance company and more like a global consumer name that can sit beside a football club. It also does not change what any robot vacuum can do on your floor.

The partnership itself was signed on January 2, 2026, at Real Madrid City by Roborock president Quan Gang and Real Madrid’s Emilio Butragueño, with Roborock positioned as an official global partner in the cleaning-vacuum category. [2][3] For the scope of that deal, and why unverified financial terms should stay out of buyer advice, use the separate Roborock Real Madrid partnership explainer.

The scale claims are Roborock’s claims

Roborock’s event recap quotes Dan Cham, Head of APAC Marketing, citing IDC for No. 1 robotic vacuum cleaner shipment volume and share in the 2025 Q4 tracker, along with Roborock’s presence in more than 170 countries and more than 22 million products delivered. [1] Those numbers are part of Roborock’s scale story as presented in its own event materials.

That distinction matters. The citation establishes that Roborock made those claims and attributed the shipment ranking to IDC; it does not turn the launch recap into an independent market-share audit. For an event explainer, the practical consequence is limited: the claims help explain why Roborock is investing in global sports marketing, but they do not verify Saros 20 Sonic cleaning performance, Matter behavior, or Saros Rover availability.

The buyer read

  • Treat Saros 20 and Saros 20 Sonic as the buyer-relevant hardware from the Tokyo event because they are the only models here with dated regional pricing in the reviewed materials.
  • Treat the “six new products” language as confirmed only at the count level. The definitive six-model list remains Investigating unless Roborock publishes or clearly cites it.
  • Treat Saros Rover as an interesting non-shipping demo. Roborock has confirmed it remains under development and has not announced launch timing.
  • Treat “Matter Supported” as Investigating until compatibility is tested through actual hubs, not just read from a product page.
  • Treat the Real Madrid partnership and clinic as marketing context. They explain the event’s look and tone; they do not add a cleaning feature.
